Comfortable stay with friendly vibes
The service was great, especially from a staff member were really nice to. Meals were tasty, and the bar area was cozy. Just wish the drink service was a bit quicker. We had to wait a while for our orders!

Spotless, excellent value hotel, the location was perfect right by an excellent restaurant, a charming market town with strong historical connections, and the centre of Oundle -a beautiful historic town. Classic double room with inferior bedroom and shower, for instance was ready when we arrived...

Staying in the Superior Double Room was a pleasant experience, improved with the really good customer service from Gail, who went out of her way to accommodate us despite our earlier challenges. The food quality was excellent throughout our stay, especially the delicious breakfasts and beautifully prepared dinners. The chaotic check-in process and plumbing issues in our room, particularly the non-functional shower, detracted from the overall experience.

I left Benefield in 1943 to join the raf and this was my first trip back to Oundle, where I went to school, since the early fifties -so this was a nostalgic visit with my wife and family. The Talbot then was out of the reach of most locals it appeared premarily for the Public School use. We all found the hotel staff great and very accommodating - no grumbles here what so ever. The meals also were excelent, both breakfast and dinner, they were also were very generious in there size and this did not detract from their quality. Oundle itself had not, seemed to me, to have changed a lot since then and was still a small country town going its own pace. Staying and being looked after at the Tolbot made it even more enjoyable. Please keep it up.

Had a very good stay with my husband, we spent 4 nights here, everything was perfect. The rooms were neat with breakfast, you feel like home. The staff was amicable, offered me wake up service and ironing free of charge. The breakfast had plenty of selection, the food was fab. The location was marvellous, not too far from Oundle Museum. The property was set in a lovely area.

Beautiful setting. Helpful staff. Excellent rooms. Good food.
Main meal would have been better served on HOT plates. The cold plates did not enhance what was a very excellently cooked meal.

We were previous residents of the Oundle area and remembered the Talbot as this was our local watering hole. Although changed in many ways it still has that market town feel and charm about it.

The historic charm impressed me right away. My room had a cozy atmosphere and was very comfortable. I enjoyed a spacious sitting area. The breakfast served each morning was fantastic, with plenty of tasty choices, and the staff was friendly, always making me feel welcome. The garden was beautiful. I loved sipping coffee outside in the morning sun. I faced some issues with the shower. The pressure could have been better, disappointing. The Wi-Fi connection in my room was inconsistent. Despite these setbacks, the overall ambiance was charming, and I'd recommend it for a quick getaway.
